• Creation of governance structures to fight heatwaves in an effective way.
• Interaction and increase of capacity of relevant organizations for mitigating heat waves effects.

One of the most important factors of HEATSAFE is the innovative character of this project, being the interdisciplinary approach. Socio-economic factors will be included in heat vulnerability mapping to ensure tailor-made solutions, prioritising the most vulnerable groups.
In addition, participatory decision-making will be implemented through the creation of new governance structures that integrate urban planning, public health, social equity and environmental sustainability.
